Spiritual Cleansing Bath Instructions

Preparation

1. Get a large boiler pot.

2. Using a small cup (not oversized), pour 6- 8 cups of water into the pot.

3. Pour the entire contents of the herbal bag into the water.

4. Place the pot on the stove and bring to a medium boil.

5. Allow the herbs to boil for 15 minutes, letting their essence fully infuse the water.

6. While the herbs are boiling, begin filling your bathtub about 2/3 full with warm water.

Setting the Bath

7. Once the herbal bath has finished boiling, carefully pour all of the contents (water and herbs) into the bathtub.

8. Grab a cup or bowl and place it beside the tub….this will be used at the end of the bath.

9. Shower first, cleansing your entire body from head to toe. This removes surface energy and prepares you for the spiritual work.

The Bath Ritual

10. Step into the bath with your left foot first.

11. Lower yourself into the water and soak for 15 minutes.

12. Allow yourself to fully submerge, if possible.

13. As you soak, begin focusing on your breath:

• Inhale slowly for 4 counts

• Exhale slowly for 4 counts

14. Visualize all negativity, blockages, heaviness, and stagnant energy lifting off your body and dissolving into the water.

15. See obstacles being removed from your path, body, mind, and soul.

16. Release tension. Relax your shoulders, jaw, and hands.

17. Close your eyes during your breathing and allow yourself to drift into stillness.

Protection Incantation

(Recite while soaking or just before draining the tub)

“I call my ancestors, my guides, and divine protection around me now.

May no harm, no ill will, no crossed condition follow me.

All energy that does not belong to me is removed and returned to its source.

I am cleansed, I am sealed, I am protected.

Only love, clarity, peace, and power may remain within my spirit.

So it is, and so it shall be.”

Closing the Bath

18. When you are finished bathing, scoop some of the bath water into the cup or bowl you set aside.

19. Allow the remaining water in the tub to drain while saying:

“I release you back into the core of the earth from which you came.”

20. Continue saying this until all of the water has fully drained.

21. Step out of the tub with your right foot.

22. Take the cup or bowl of water and throw it out of a back door or back window, sending the work away from you and sealing the cleansing.
